Solana Launches Web3-Focused Smartphone, Can't Believe Crypto Twitter
Solana Labs this week announced the launch of the Solana Mobile Stack software ecosystem for Android, which includes 'Saga' - an Android smartphone. Unfortunately, the news has been greeted with outright contempt by some sections of Crypto Twitter. Mobile phones are finally ready to accommodate Web3, and the response has been mixed, to say the least.
Apple and Ethereum have been compared with Solana's 'Saga' Android announcement and the most recent Solana Mobile Stack (SMS) software for developers; However, many voices have also raised concerns about Solana's frequent network outages. Despite the negative public backlash, users can expect to see some features in Saga including a software custodian solution called SeedVault, a mobile wallet adapter, and more. Includes Solana Pay.
Solana also plans to release a dApp store for its mobile devices so that users can easily access Web3. The SMS development kit is now available for download, although the phone is unlikely to hit the market before early 2023. The announcement of Saga has been relatively negative for Solana over the past few months.
The company saw a 42 percent drop in seven days in January, with $SOL (Solana's native token) working hard for the New Year's crypto sell-off. This and the addition of multiple duplicate transactions and downtime added to the tension among users. And in May, Solana experienced a seven-hour down period after NFT minting tool 'Candy Machine' was targeted by bots. The bots caused four million transaction requests that the platform could not cope with, and users were once again questioning the potential of the blockchain.
Solana labs is a telecom and Blockchain Platform, disrupting the way Telecom connect and transact with Blockchain. Solana offers a low cost, full featured Mobile phone that allows users to Easily interact and transact with their Dapps on either Android and Apple devices.
